Privacy Choices

Local Video and Audio

CaptionAddr processes imported video, extracted audio, generated captions, edits, and exports on your device. There is no account setting to upload media for transcription because the current app is designed not to do that.

To remove local project data, reset the current project in CaptionAddr or uninstall the app. Exported videos saved to Photos are controlled by the Photos app and must be deleted there.

Model Resources

The Whisper Small English model is bundled with CaptionAddr so local transcription normally runs without a separate model download. CaptionAddr also has a remote fallback for model delivery if bundled resources are unavailable or a build is configured for fallback delivery. Your media is not sent with model verification or model delivery requests.

Analytics and Tracking

CaptionAddr does not use data for tracking or advertising, and does not include Firebase Analytics or App Tracking Transparency prompts. CaptionAddr does use Firebase Crashlytics and backend services for crash diagnostics, App Check, anonymous entitlement sync, subscription verification, aggregate activation counters, and App Store notification processing. The activation counters are fixed content-free milestone names immediately aggregated by day, app version, and build without a user ID, installation ID, media detail, transcript, or per-install profile. App Store privacy disclosures classify this as Product Interaction that is not linked to the user, is not used for tracking, and is used for Analytics.

We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Diagnostics

Crash reports help identify reliability problems. They may include technical diagnostic information such as stack traces, device and OS information, app version, hardware identifier, logs, non-fatal errors, and operation metadata. Do not put sensitive information in support messages or bug descriptions unless necessary.

CaptionAddr records operation timing and Apple MetricKit diagnostic payloads locally on your device. The current app does not upload successful local performance telemetry to Dynsell LLC in normal user flows. Separate content-free activation counters record only fixed workflow milestone names as aggregate totals. Failed operations may be reported to Firebase Crashlytics as non-fatal diagnostic events, without your video, audio, transcript text, caption timing, or exports.

Notifications

CaptionAddr may ask iOS for notification permission when you start your first export so it can show an export-complete notification. You can change notification permission in iOS Settings. CaptionAddr does not use Firebase Cloud Messaging or marketing push notifications.

Subscriptions

Apple manages App Store subscriptions. Dynsell LLC cannot cancel your subscription or issue App Store refunds directly. CaptionAddr uses an anonymous purchase identity and anonymous Firebase authentication when needed to verify or restore Pro access.

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Tap your name.
  3. Tap Subscriptions.
  4. Select CaptionAddr and manage or cancel the subscription.

Support Email

If you contact support, we receive the email address and content you send. You control what you include. You can request deletion of support correspondence by emailing CaptionAddr@gmail.com, subject to legal and business record needs.

Local Preferences

Haptics, appearance, watermark preference, accepted Terms version, accepted Terms date, progress calibration data, one-time activation milestone markers, and other app preferences are stored locally. Manage haptics, appearance, and watermark settings in CaptionAddr settings.
