CaptionAddr is an iPhone and iPad app for importing a video, transcribing speech locally with Whisper Small, editing caption timing and style, and exporting a captioned movie file.
No. Transcription runs on your device. Your source video, extracted audio, generated captions, and edits are not uploaded to Dynsell LLC or Firebase for transcription.
CaptionAddr uses Whisper Small locally and bundles the model resources in the app. This makes the initial app download larger, but it avoids a separate model setup download and keeps transcription on your device.
Free supports local transcription, caption editing, caption styling, and captioned movie export for videos up to 2 minutes. CaptionAddr Pro Monthly extends the import and export limit to 30 minutes. The US StoreKit configuration is $6.99 per month with a 3-day introductory offer for eligible new subscribers; the App Store shows final local pricing before purchase.
Open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, then choose CaptionAddr. You can also manage subscriptions at apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. Cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period to avoid renewal.
Open CaptionAddr settings and choose Restore Purchases. Use the same Apple ID used for the original subscription.
CaptionAddr requires iOS or iPadOS 17.0 or later and an iPhone or iPad with A12 Bionic, A12X Bionic, A12Z Bionic, or newer Apple silicon.
This includes iPhone XR, iPhone XS, iPhone 11, iPhone SE (2nd generation), newer iPhone models, iPad mini (5th generation), iPad (8th generation), iPad Air (3rd generation), iPad Pro 11-inch (1st generation), iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd generation), and newer iPad models. Older iPhone, iPad, and Mac devices are not supported.
On-device speech recognition can be affected by background noise, music, accents, overlapping voices, microphone quality, and fast speech. Review and edit captions before export.
Apple handles App Store refunds. Use reportaproblem.apple.com or Apple Support. Dynsell LLC cannot issue App Store refunds directly.
Your media and projects are stored locally on your device. For deletion of information reasonably associated with support, diagnostics, or subscription services, email CaptionAddr@gmail.com.
